A NEW bar dedicated to rum drinks – and even a rum flavoured burger! – has opened in Sheffield.
The Revolucion de Cuba bar on Mapplin Street was launched on Friday and is set to bring some added flair to the city’s nightlife.
The venue is the country’s first dedicated rum bar, and will serve more than 50 different rums... along with rum-flavoured burgers.
Manager James Whitlam said: “To be the first Revolution bar in the UK to be introducing the new Rum Club concept is a major coup for Sheffield.
“As well as creating 35 new jobs locally, within the bar and hospitality sector, we feel that a dedicated rum bar will prove a big hit with customers in South Yorkshire – particularly given the global popularity of this fashionable spirit.
“The birth of Revolucion de Cuba is an exciting time for the company, as we look to build on the success experienced by our other Sheffield city-centre bar, Vodka Revolution, on Fitzwilliam Street.”
The décor and layout of the bar is inspired by the original 1930’s bars of Havana and blended with Cuban-inspired Miami hotels.
Live music and salsa will also be a major part of recreating the fun Cuban party vibe associated with the vibrant city of Havana.
Themed nights are also planned throughout the week.
