REAL ale fans in Barnsley have come up with a novel way of celebrating the Royal Wedding - by holding a beer and cider festival!
Barnsley CAMRA have organised The Royal Wedding Beer and Cider Festival 2011 to take place on the same weekend that Prince William and Kate Middleton tie the knot.
The event will be held at Milton Hall in Elsecar from Friday, April 29 to Sunday May 1.
Visitors on the Friday are invited to come in bride and groom fancy dress, with a prize going to the best dressed. Sunday will be optional Loud Shirt Day.
Phil Gregg, Barnsley CAMRA’s pubs and clubs officer, said: “The festival always goes down well every year, and everyone is welcome to come along.”
The festival will be open each day from noon to 10.30pm. Daily admission is £3, and £1 for CAMRA members.
