MEXBOROUGH brewer Frank Hoyland has got the biggest head for miles around on his new ale – the head of Rotherham Council.
For new Rotherham Mayor, Coun Shaun Wright, has got his portrait on Frank’s latest brew – a special bottled beer in aid of the Mayor’s charity!
Shaun stepped into his mayoral chains last Friday – and the real ale fan has asked Frank’s Imperial Club Brewery to create a new beer to mark the occasion.
The Mayor’s Charity beer, will be on sale at fundraising events during the next year.
Coun Wright said: “I do like a bit of real ale now and again, and I just thought this would be a good idea, as it’s something a little different.
“There are 500 bottles – which Beatson Clark in Rotherham has kindly done for free. The labels have been done for free as well, and the Imperial Club has crafted a lovely-tasting beer.
“It will be available at a great number of fundraising events during my term as Mayor.”
Proceeds from sales will go to the Mayor’s three chosen charities: Macmillan Cancer Support, Rotherham Alzheimer’s Society and the Children’s Trust in Rotherham.
Frank Hoyland, co-owner of the Imperial Club Brewery, said: “Mayor Wright came down and sampled a few of our ales and he was really impressed with them.
“We were honoured to create a new beer for him because we haven’t been open long.
“It’s a 4.3 per cent beer with a golden colour and its got a great taste to it. All the money will go to three very worthy causes and we’re just happy to do our bit.”
