The only down side to putting pen to paper when describing local eating and drinking houses is that you always manage to upset the ones who don’t get a mention!
So it was when we recently waxed lyrically about two splendid hostelries that people seemed to come out of the woodwork to tell us about a whole host of others.
Take The Lord Conyers for instance, which had a few rave reviews from members of the public.
Situated on Old Road at Conisbrough, this attractive pub has what all pubs crave for – kerb appeal.
To the unitiated that means it looks good from the outside. But there’s much more too to it than a good look.
There’s enough going on within these walls to keep most pub goers happy.
Everything from Teatime Specials Thursday 5-8pm, Two Meals for a Tenner, breakfast 9am-noon Wednesday to Saturday and what about its Sunday lunches at £5.95, midday until 4pm. There’s even a bar menu on Saturday lunchtime from noon until 4pm.
There’s so much more. It’s impossible to mention everything here, so the best advice we can give is to take yourself along and have a look for yourselves.
Then there’s the entertainment. Well how much time have you got?
There is enough going on here to make it almost inconvenient to go home!
Poker Tournament on Tuesday, Wednesday is Wildkats Karaoke at 8.30pm along with Play Your Cards Right.
Fridays sees DJ Allen with Soul/Motown and requests and it’s Wildkats again on Saturdays.
On Sunday at noon you can test the brain with a general knowledge quiz and again at night-time.
Exhausted? Why not put your feet up and watch all the footy and other sporting highlignts in 3D or HD, all major events are available.
And if you’re looking for a wedding venue, look no further.
The Lord Conyers Hotel is an ideal venue, more than capable of making your special day truly unforgettable.
Providing excellent catering and bar facilities as well as being a central location for you and your guests, why look elsewhere?
