A club spokesman said: “The roots songwriter has the kind of stop-in-your-tracks voice that sounds like Southern sunshine.

“There’s a hint of Delta blues behind the ache in her songs, a glimpse of honky-tonk twang, an echo of riverboat can-cans, and an atmosphere of the darker side of country songwriting.

“She unites all the best elements of Southern American roots music, and ties these many different influences into a sound that’s comforting and refreshing.”

This time she is joined by her producer, guitarist Johnny Sangster, and bass player Jay Darwish.

Sanger played on her last two albums and has toured with the likes of KD Lang, while Darwish has worked with musicians such as Sting and Newton Faulker.

The Bronwynne Brent Trio are at the club, at the Ukrainain Centre, Beckett Road, Doncaster town centre, tomorrow/
