WATH upon Dearne’s scheduled opponents may have cried off last weekend but three of their own youngsters did not as they played key roles in the South Yorkshire select side’s victories over North and East Yorkshire.
Drew Sawdon, James Sanderson and Rory Anderson took a break from Wath U13 duty to represent their county in Doncaster against the visiting neighbours.
With the first XV coasting towards promotion, future prospects for the club look equally as strong with the trip performing superbly across the two matches.
Sawdon, Sanderson and Anderson were back with their usual team mates on Sunda, helping them to a 12-5 win over a strong Chesterfield side while Wath Colts saw off Barnsley 50-10.
Wath’s first XV saw their match chalked off after opponents Old Otliensians claimed the Moor Road surface was too hard for play due to frost.
They are set to return to action on Saturday at Old Modernians.
