Last weekend’s superb 27-22 win over Bristol set up a meeting with Clive Griffiths’ former club Worcester Warriors in the final of the British & Irish Cup, to be held at Castle Park on Good Friday.

Skipper Michael Hills said: “Worcester are a very strong outfit and are very well drilled and they’ll be very confident.

“But we played very well against them in the league game at Sixfields. Although they beat us at home in September we’ll go into the game feeling confident with all the support we’ll have on the day.

“It’s a great feat to get to the final but having got there we now want to go on and win the trophy.

“We’ll be working very hard to try and do that, but we’ve got two very important league games before then.

“Beating London Scottish and then Nottingham would give us a huge boost going into the final.”

Knights re-wrote the record books last season by becoming the first team to bounce back to the Championship at the first time of asking.
