The first quarter saw the Eagles dominate a hard-working and well-drilled Stourport side but the visitors managed to score at will with the hosts providing no response to their pace.

The score was 35-19 at the end of the quarter in favour of the Eagles, who made numerous substitutions to keep the intensity high.

Mathew Martin found his rhythm in the second quarter and Stourport simply did not have an answer. Josh Metcalf, Paul Walsh and Olly Hylands contributed to the scoring to ensure the Eagles went in at half-time 64-37 up.

The third quarter saw a different approach from Stourport and the Eagles were tested by the dynamic shooting of the Spartans’ shooting guards. Elijah Walsh and Harrison Bell provided important baskets for the Eagles as they remained on top after the third quarter, 82-63.

The final stages saw Elijah Walsh and Paul Walsh lead the counter attack. And it was the former who scored on numerous possessions, including a thunderous slam dunk, to seal the win.
