South Yorkshire athletes are expected to play a big part in the Yorkshire quest for honours in the Northern Inter Counties Championship (Under 17 and under 15) at Derby tomorrow.

Doncaster duo Joe McGrath and Steven Bellamy double up in the under 17 sprints and should produce useful points whilst in the same age group Matthew Miller (City of Sheffield) will be hard to beat in the long jump.

In the under 15 boys section Hallamshire’s Jacques Eitia is listed for both the 100 and 200 metres.

In the under 17 girls section Barnsley’s Toni Buckingham should do well in the shot whilst in the under 15 girls the 800 metres should be a good event for Yorkshire with two Simpsons, Tilly from Hallamshire and Emily from City of Sheffield both in good form.
