Entries are invited for the Rother Valley Series 2 triathlon, in Rother Valley Park on Sunday, June 4.
The event, in support of Help for Heroes, will also double up as Sheffield Triathlon Club’s standard distance Championship race.
The sprint race comprises a 750m open water swim in the Park’s lake, a challenging 25km bike around the country roads of North Derbyshire and 5km run around the lake and the standard is a 1500m swim, 42.5km bike and a 10km run.
Experienced triathletes and first-timers are welcome to compete in the event staged by Retford-based TLS Events.
Events manager Caroline Sheppard said: “We’re getting people signing up on a daily basis and there’s a real buzz about the race building in the triathlon community. As well as the two adults races there will be three TriStar races for up and coming junior triathletes to get involved. We’ve also got relay options in both the sprint and standard distance races so if you’re a good swimmer but no good at cycling or running you can still take part by recruiting friends or family who are!”
The event follows the successful Series 1 Duathlon in March,
