Short not sweet for sinking Town

ROTHERHAM Town last just seven days at the top of the table after losing to Scarborough at North Marine Road.

Scarborough totalled 239-6 from their 55 overs with Joe Padmore reaching 84 while promising youngster Oliver Jackson claimed 4-73.

Rotherham lasted just 36 overs and were skittled for just 121 as they struggled to find consistency in the face of top bowling.

Jordan Lowe top scored with 29 while Simon Tennant claimed 3-9 off 5.2 overs.

Barnsley returned to winning ways with a two wicket win over Yorkshire Academy.

Jonathan Tattersall hit 61 of Academy’s 166-9 with Richard Wilkinson claiming 6-55.

Barnsley reached the target with two balls left and eight wickets used, Ben O’Brien taking his total to 37no with the winning six while Matthew Wilson scored 66.

Rock bottom Doncaster Town suffered defeat to second bottom Driffield who made 186 which proved to be beyond Town.
