Barbs Princess showed she can handle the Southwell Fibresand with an easy victory last month and can follow up in the Unibet Offer Daily Jockey/Trainer Specials Handicap back at the Nottinghamshire venue.
Charlie Hills’ runner has been thoroughly consistent on the all weather of late, placing three times last winter before really beginning to step up on that previous form this term.
The five-year-old was tried on turf a couple of times last summer but after running down the field at Nottingham in June, Barbs Princess was given a nice break and returned fresh for action at Wolverhampton last month.
Pitched into a competitive event, she hung on by a head at the line after perhaps being in front a touch longer than ideal over six furlongs.
Turned out again at Southwell 12 days later, Barbs Princess shrugged off a 3lb rise to run out a five-length winner, triumphing with the minimum of fuss and being well in control at the line.
She is saddled with a 6lb penalty for that success here but given the ease of her victory, she could well be hiked a little more when reassessed so Hills is clearly keen to capitalise on these terms.
Yeah Cool showed much improved form on his first all-weather try at Wolverhampton and can confirm that promise in the Daily Enhanced “Magic Multiples” At Unibet Maiden Stakes.
Sent off a 40-1 shot that day, he had clearly made stealthy progress for Peter Chapple-Hyam as he was only eventually beaten two and a half lengths
