JUST two Barnsley & District Cricket League games survived last Sunday with the rest being called off due to bad weather.

Elsecar (92-3) beat Division One hosts Wath by seven wickets with Mexborough Athletic beating Doncaster rivals Brodsworth Main by four wickets in their Division Two derby.

Batting first, the home side made 86 all out with James Hobson (4-19) and Jonathan Mason (3-8) doing the damage.

Hugh Tingle (27) and Michael Faley (24) shared the batting honours in Athletic’s reply of 87-6. Mason Warren (2-17) and David Merryweather (2-23) claimed four of the wickets to fall between them.
