The best seats in the house to watch Kell Brook take on Gennady Golovkin will cost you a cool £1,000.

Tickets go on sale on Friday for the history-making showdown at London’s 02 Arena.

Both fighters will be earning millions of pounds - and that is represented, perhaps, by the prices some fans will be asked to pay. Tickets range from £40 to £500 with VIP tickets available at £1,000.

For those watching on TV the show will be Pay Per View.

Fighters like Golovkin don’t come cheap - and Brook deserves his moment to make his family secure for this generation and the next.

Meanwhile, former American world champion DeMarcus Corley wasn’t shocked when he heard the Sheffield welterweight was going up two weight divisions to take on middleweight Golovkin.

He had been surprised the muscular frame of the Brit could boil itself down to welterweight a couple of years ago.

Junior Witter, the Ingle boxer who knows a thing or two about winning world trinkets, recalls: “A couple of years ago, when Kell was sparring with Corley (whom Witter beat in a WBC World super lightweight title fight in 2006) all Corley kept saying is “He ain’t no welterweight, he’s a middleweight”.

“He couldn’t believe he made 10st 7 pounds.”

Witter is thrilled for his stablemate.

“What a great fight for Kell, he’s a lot bigger than people think there’s only a inch between him and GGG. GGG isn’t the biggest middleweight; yes he’s a massive puncher but Kell loses loads of power getting as light as he does.

“So we should see his full punching power.

“Kell’s a good boxer with real power with nothing to lose and everything to gain. Plus a big pay cheque.

“This fight will bring the best out of Kell, he’s got a big heart and he doesn’t want to lose at anything. It’s going be interesting I’m looking forward to watching it” said Witter, who at 42, is planning to continue boxing and is planning a fight later in the year.
