  • Sharks take on London and Leicester this weekend
  • Seven wins in a row for the Sharks
  • Four games of regular season remain

Captain Mike Tuck says he can’t wait to play against to take on some of the BBL’s leading clubs after Sheffield Sharks extended their winning run to seven.

Wins against Bristol Flyers and Surrey United last weekend cemented Sharks play-off place and set up Friday’s clash at London Lions as a battle for fifth place in the table.

However, Tuck also has he eyes on taking down second placed Leicester Riders when they arrive at the EIS on Sunday afternoon (4pm).

He said: “I can’t wait for one of those games (against a top four club). We’re hungry right now. As soon as the ball goes up at the beginning of a game the guys are looking really hungry and ready to play.

“That’s the sort of mentality that we need to take into the games against a Leicester or a (champions-elect) Newcastle. I’m looking forward to the play-offs.”

Since a six game losing skid in February the Sharks have been unbeaten.

Tuck said: “We can be a force to be reckoned with. It’s exciting that we’re hitting our stride right at the perfect time of the season.

“Everyone is getting focused now, we have strung together a couple of wins and we’ve seen what we can actually do when we focus.

“There’s a couple of games left and we’re trying to win all these games and head into the play-offs strong.”
