It has been quite a busy off-season down at Old Road for Denaby United FC.

Denaby drew 3-3 with Lincolnshire League Premier Division champions Skegness United last Saturday, with goals from Steve Ellor, Dan Noonan and Ben Redfearn.

On Saturday, they face Northern Counties East League side Brighouse Town at Old Road, 2pm kick off, before further friendlies against Harworth and Parkgate.

As well as the first team, who will defend their Premier title in the Doncaster Senior League, United will continue to field two veterans sides in the Sheffield Wragg League next season,

The Junior section has expanded this season to include teams at Under 5, 6,, 11, 15 and 17 level, and last seasons Under 16s, who won the DDJSL Division One title, have decided to try their luck in the Premier Division.

On August 18 United have organised a ‘Fun Day’, with entertainment provided by local artist Jay Mya and SV Dance Studio.

An all-day barbeque is planned and entrance is free to the event, taking place at the Old Star Hotel, Conisbrough, 10am-4pm.

Members of the club will take part in a sponsored skydive on September 7, with the aim of raising £3,000 for the club’s junior and adult sections.

Ten members of the club, including players, parents and committee members will be taking part, jumping out of a plane at 15,000 feet to raise money for the Reds.
