Two hat-tricks in Bawtry’s 8-3 romp

CHRIS Hancock shone as Sutton Rovers maintained their three-point cushion at the top of the Premier Division after trouncing Edlington Town 5-0.

A double from Hancock and goals from Adrian Parker, Leon Tarry and Tom Doherty did the damage.

Second-placed Rossington Main, who have played a game more than Rovers, edged past South Elmsall United, with Scott Spencer finding the net.

Bramley Sunnyside were held to a 1-1 draw at Brodsworth Welfare.

Craig Jackson’s brace inspired AFC Sportsman Rovers to a 4-2 triumph at Hemsworth Town, with Bret Oxer and Gavin Wilson chipping in.

It was a six-goal thriller between Kinsley Boys and Hatfield Main. Mid-table Hatfield triumphed 4-2 courtesy of Gary Eades (2), Glyn Powell and Craig Miller. Joshua Billingham and Tom Clarke netted for Boys.

Bawtry Town produced the result of the day, hammering lowly Swinton Station Athletic 8-3, with Jack Burton and Philip Colton both grabbing hat-tricks and Tom Denton claiming two.

In Division One, Denaby United closed the gap on leaders Shafton Villa by trouncing Dunscroft United 7-2 following strikes from Ryan Oakley (4), Jay Astphall (2) and Scott Aspinall. Ashley Davis and Jamie Hindson bagged consolations for United.

Scawthorpe & Bentley Rhinos leapfrogged Ackworth United into third after securing a 2-1 win at South Kirkby Town. Brian Dickinson and Dean Daffin were on target.

Brad Atherton’s double helped Sun FC beat Hemsworth MW and climb out of the bottom three.
