Hill House U11s are through to the regional finals of the nPower Cup.

Hill House School’s fully charged footballers were crowned winners of the Doncaster leg of the npower Football League Kids Cup.

Ben O’Reilly’s superb free kick secured a 2-1 extra time win over Willow Primary in the final earlier this month.

The Auckley school will now represent Doncaster Rovers at the regional under 11 finals at Bolton Wanderers’ Reebok Stadium in March.

Hill House negotiated their qualifying group - and also the wet and windy conditions - at the Keepmoat Stadium in impressive fashion, remaining unbeaten throughout the competition.

They beat Leverton 3-1 and recorded 2-1 wins over both Barnby Dun and Wadworth to progress through to the quarter-finals as winners of Group A.

A superb 7-0 win over Woodfield then set up a semi-final clash with Armthorpe Tranmoor, in which Hill House ran out 4-2 winners.

The final, against a strong Willow side, ended 1-1 after normal time.

But a keenly fought contest was settled in spectacular fashion when Hill House’s player of the tournament O’Reilly curled home a free kick from distance.

The Football League Kids Cup culminates in a Wembley final on the weekend of the Football League Play-Off finals in May.

Barnby Dun won the Kids Cup in 2009, while Owston Park were runners up a year previously.

Hill House’s successful squad consisted of Eren Murray, Will Railton (C), Jordon Vipond, Sam Woodhead, Ben O’Reilly, George Causier, William Aitken and Seamus Phillips.
