Paul Dickov has the backing of the majority of Doncaster Rovers supporters, according to our annual fans’ survey.
Almost three quarters of fans who took part in our online survey said they were still behind the Scot, with 34.2% indicating they were happy to stick with him and 39.6% content enough to ‘see how he starts next season’.
Approximately one in four fans indicated they would prefer a change of manager.
But, interestingly, our survey revealed that Dickov can win over the vast majority of his doubters by improving on last season’s mid-table finish.
Of those fans who do not currently feel Dickov is the right man, 36.5% said they could be won over by him if he guides Doncaster to a top six finish next season.
A total of 29.6% said he must go one better and lead Rovers to automatic promotion.
For 13.3%, getting the team to play a more entertaining football was key, while 10.3% want Rovers to win more matches at home.
Only 21 fans out of 278 respondents said that they had completely made their mind up and decided that Dickov is not the right man for the job.
Meanwhile, 43.2% said it was tactics that the Scot has to improve the most, followed by recruitment (30.6%), in-game management (18.3%) and team selection (7.9%).
Dickov scored an average of 5.2, out of ten, for his performance last season.
