5. Cameron John 7
He was exposed quite a few times in the first half but enjoyed much more freedom in the second and got forward really well at times. He took his goal superbly. Photo: Andrew Roe/AHPIX LTD
6. Ben Whiteman 7
Struggled to get on the ball with any real authority in the first half but found his usual levels of control in the second. He moved the ball well to get Rovers on the front foot and took his penalty well. Photo: Andrew Roe/AHPIX LTD
7. Reece James 7
Struggled massively in the first half in the deeper role. He did not find space at all and was panicked on the ball. But with a switch out to the left for the second period he came to life and was an excellent attacking threat as well as offering real protection for his full back. And his goal was a sublime touch. 8. James Coppinger 5
In a game that was calling out for the sort of craft, composure and guile that has always been the veteran’s bread and butter, he was severely lacking. He was caught on the ball far too easily through the first half, including for Blackpool’s second goal. Subbed at half time. Photo: Bruce Rollinson
