Rival boss Kenny Jackett is predicting a special atmosphere when the Millers entertain his Wolves side tomorrow.

He said: “Rotherham have come up and will want to establish themselves in the Championship. It will be the first Championship game at the New York Stadium and some occasion.

“But similarly we will take a good crowd and they’ll get right behind our players as well, and that’s a big thing.

“It’ll be a big day for them and they’ll want to do very well.”

Both teams went up from League One last season, and Jackett added: “The achievement they’ve had, getting successive promotions, is a terrific one and they will not want to let it fall now. For all of this season they’ll be a real excitement about the place.

“We know tomorrow is going to be a cracking game. We need to earn our supporters’ respect and backing.”
