Rotherham United: I’m under pressure, says Millers manager Alan Stubbs

Boss Alan Stubbs admits he feels under growing pressure as Rotherham continue their slide down the Championship table.

Two defeats in successive weeks to teams who started the day bottom of the division - Blackburn Rovers last Saturday and Cardiff City today - have left the Millers in the bottom three.

Stubbs told The Star: “Yes, because we’ve not had the results there is extra pressure. I can understand your line of questioning completely. It’s a natural question. I have no problem with that.

“If you don’t get results, the pressure can build.”

The Millers led 1-0 against the Bluebirds through Izzy Brown but for the fourth time in five home matches surrendered an advantage and couldn’t see out the game.

Former England international striker Rickie Lambert scored twice for the visitors to seal a 2-1 win, although Stubbs felt the first came from a free-kick against Joe Mattock which shouldn’t have been awarded.

The manager added: “We have to work hard on the training ground. You don’t get out of it by feeling sorry for yourself. I don’t have a magic wand.”
