Rotherham United said farewell to two loan players ahead of today’s FA Cup clash with AFCBournemouth, but boss Steve Evans isn’t a worried man.

The Millers face the Championship leaders without attackers Tom Lawrence and Emmanuel Ledesma who have returned to parent clubs Leicester City and Middlesbrough respectively

“If it was a league game next, there would be real disappointment, but it’s not a league game, is it?” Evans said,

“They’ve gone back and we’ll continuing talking.”

Evans hopes both could be back in a Rotherham shirt again soon.

The Millers manager confirmed he had been interested in Rangers starlet Lewis MacLeod, who has now signed for Brentford, but never made a bid.

“He’s a top player. He’s rated very highly,” he said “No, we didn’t go as far as making a bid for him.

“It went a bit dead when (former Rangers manager) Ally McCoist went.

“I’d spoken to Ally two or three times.”
