After picking up their first point of the season with a hard earned 1-1 draw at Shaw Lane Aquaforce in midweek. Andy Kiwomya will be seeking his first competitive win as Sheffield FC boss when he takes his team to Chasetown.

The hosts have four points from their opening two games having being held at home by Kidsgrove Athletic last Saturday but gaining their first win with a 1-0 win at Leek Town midweek. Club won the corresponding fixture 2-1 last season, with goals from Joel Purkiss and James Gregory that made amends for a 6-2 mauling at Dronfield. James Knowles is a doubt for the trip after picking up an injury at Shaw Lane after just eight minutes.

Stocksbridge Park Steels go to Basford United aiming to maintain their 100% start. Steels got off to a excellent start taking maximum points from two opening games beating Market Drayton Town last weekend then winning 2-1 at Goole AFC midweek. Boss Chris Hilton feels the depth of the squad has been a major factor saying: “We’ve now got players competing for every position, we didn’t have that last season. So when we had players missing through injury or whatever we had to throw youngsters in. We’ve been without several players in the opening games yet we’ve still been able to put out a strong team, that’s the difference this term. We’ve got Jack Poulton, Brandon Cardwell and Richard Patterson back so it gives me a pleasant headache, selection wise.”

“Basford will be another test for us. They’ve just come up as champions from the Midland League so will be on a high. They have also brought in some experienced players. But we’ll be going there for a win, we want to keep the run going and make it nine points. We play attacking football, the players believe in the way we play and what we are trying to do. We’re not the finished article by a long way but so far so good.”

Shaw Lane Aquaforce will be looking to extended their unbeaten start to three games at home against Romulus where the visitors have started with successive 1-1 draws. Frickley Athletic are at Sutton Coldfield Town with the Blues have still yet to register a point after two games.

Manager Karl Rose could hand debuts to recent new signings defender Connor Griffin and midfielder Jake Ellam.

Matlock Town saw their good start undone by a 2-1 home reversal against Salford City in midweek. However, the Gladiators have the chance to make amends as they host Whitby Town, while Buxton will look to continue their good start when make the long trip to Blyth Spartans in search of a third win on the spin.
