‘No full answer’ to Doncaster Rovers downturn

Rovers have won just one of their last nine matches in all competitions and are without a win in four in the league.
It has been a period characterised by sluggish performances and mistakes – a far cry from the form displayed early in the season.

Hide AdFull back James says while the reasons for the downturn have not been fully identified, plenty of work has been put in throughout the week to get Rovers back on track.
“I don’t think we’ve put our finger on it ourselves,” James said.
“We’ve been working on different things on the training ground and we’ll keep doing that.
“We’ve got to make sure that we keep believing and I think we’ve all got to stick together and everyone gets behind us in what the gaffer is trying to achieve here.

Hide Ad“We’ve got to be the ones to put the performances out on the pitch.
“At the minute it’s not been clicking in recent weeks.
“The first half on Saturday was very good but the second half was not acceptable from us.”
Rovers looked back to their best in the first half at AFC Wimbledon but let their lead slip to suffer a 2-1 defeat.
“It's very disappointing,” James said. “I don’t think we can lose a game in the manner that we lost it there.
“For them to have two chances and we’ve conceded two goals, that can’t happen.”
