Here’s to you, Theo Robinson!
New signing Andy Butler has hailed Doncaster’s lone striker for ‘setting the tone’ during Rovers’ upturn in form.
Robinson, who has scored four times this season, trails both Curtis Main and Nathan Tyson in this term’s goalscoring charts.
But after starting Rovers’ last eight games, Butler says the former Huddersfield and Derby frontman has played a key role in the team’s recent surge.
“Theo Robinson sets the tone by his work rate up front,” said Butler, who this week sealed his permanent switch from Sheffield United.
“We all thrive on what he does.
“He does a lot of unselfish running up there and it rubs off on the rest of the team.
“The whole team’s working hard at the moment,” he added.
“The sort of work ethic that the gaffer’s installed means anything is still possible this season.”
Robinson’s last goal came from the penalty spot in the 1-0 win at Swindon on December 20.
Main and Tyson both have six goals to their credit.
Rovers head to Oldham this weekend aiming to extend a four-game unbeaten run.
Even more impressively, they have gone eight games unbeaten on the road. Their last defeat away from the Keepmoat came at Fleetwood on October 18.
