Hide AdMoore named two midfield trialists in his starting XI and added two from the bench in the second half.
Reece James - who suffered an injury in training at the start of the week - and Jon Taylor were both absent for Rovers.
The Rovers boss had called for a step-up in performance from his side after being pleased with their run outs in wins over Scunthorpe and Bradford.
With their first competitive fixture now just a week away as they visit Blackburn Rovers in the Carabao Cup, Moore and his squad are fast running out of preparation time.
