Paul Dickov says he has the backing of the Doncaster Rovers board to implement long term plans ‘for the good of the club’.
The Scot is keen to improve the scouting and recruitment side of the club and met the board last week to discuss his proposals.
He was unwilling to go into details when asked about that meeting this week but yesterday the club posted an advert for a chief scout vacancy on their website - a clear sign that the board remain fully behind Dickov and his plans for the club.
“I don’t want to go into it too much but we’re making good progress with it,” Dickov said.
“It’s something that’s important to the board. They are backing me with what I want to do with that side of it.
“We’ve still got four or five weeks until the end of the season and hopefully by then everything will be in place going forward.
“I know people want results now, I know people want the play-offs,” he added.
“But we are actually trying to do something for the future and for the good of the club as well.”
