Rovers have extended the loan deal of defender Lucas Neill until the end of the season.
The Australia international signed from Watford for an initial month but a deal has been done to cover the final two games of the campaign.
The extension of the deal means Neill is likely to be fit for Saturday’s crucial clash with play-off chasing Reading at the Keepmoat.
Neill has missed the last three matches for Rovers after suffering a hamstring injury in the defeat to Bolton. He has made three starts for Rovers during his spell.
Rovers boss Paul Dickov said earlier this week he hopes to have at least two of injured trio Richie Wellens, James Husband and Neill back for the visit of Reading.
