Rovers have released five players - including last season’s first choice goalkeeper Gary Woods.
Woods played 49 out of 53 games as Doncaster returned to the Championship in style.
The 22-year-old, who divided opinion among supporters, was the most eye-catching name on the list of players released by the club, which was revealed on Friday night.
Woods was arguably one of the club’s most improved players last season, although he was also prone to lapses in concentration.
His exit means Rovers will priorities a new number one goalkeeper over the summer.
Midfielder Martin Woods will also need to find a new club after his six-year stay at Doncaster, the latter of which was blighted by injury, also came to an end.
Rovers have also released young forward Jordan Ball, midfielder Lee Fowler and former youth team winger Paddy Mullen.
Veteran goalkeeper Neil Sullivan, Jon Maxted, Liam Wakefield, Paul Quinn, Andy Griffin, Tommy Spurr, Paul Keegan, Chris Brown and Kyle Bennett have all been told they will meet with the new manager at the earliest convenience to discuss contract extensions.
James Harper’s name was omitted from the club’s retained list.
