Doncaster Rovers are awaiting the identity of their opponents in the first knockout stage of the Papa John’s Trophy after securing their qualification from the group stage with Tuesday’s win at Scunthorpe United.

Here we look at the details of the draw and identify the teams Rovers could be drawn against in the round of 32.

WHEN IS THE PAPA JOHN’S TROPHY DRAW?

The draw will take place on Saturday, November 13, immediately following the League Two clash between Port Vale and Bradford City which kicks off at noon.

WILL THE DRAW BE TELEVISED?

The draw will be held as part of Sky Sports’ coverage of the Port Vale v Bradford fixture. It will be hosted by former Leeds United and Sheffield Wednesday midfielder David Prutton and conducted by former Newport County manager Michael Flynn and ex-Port Vale midfielder Chris Birchall.

HOW WILL THE DRAW WORK?

The competition remains regionalised until the quarter final stage.

The winners of each group will be drawn against teams who finished runners-up. No two teams from the same group can be drawn against each other.

Group winners are guaranteed a home tie.

As Rovers finished second, they will be away.

Rovers will be handed a trip to one of the following seven teams in the round of 32:

Bolton Wanderers

WHEN ARE ROUND OF 32 MATCHES SET TO TAKE PLACE?

Round of 32 matches have been pencilled in for the week commencing November 29.

The scheduled date will be sandwiched between Rovers’ trip to Burton Albion and the FA Cup home tie against Mansfield Town.
