Captain Marc Roberts is focused on leading Barnsley out at Oakwell next season.
Defenders from the club have gone on to secure big-money moves away from the club, with Roberts the latest to be linked to the Premier League.
John Stones, Mason Holgate and Alfie Mawson were all tempted away from South Yorkshire by the lure of the top tier.
Roberts is one of the best centre-backs in the Championship and he was linked with a move away from the club back in January.
The likes of Sam Winnall, Conor Hourihane, James Bree, Marley Watkins and Josh Scowen have left this season, but Roberts is dedicated to the cause.
“I’m just concentrating on leading Barnsley out at Oakwell and wearing the captain’s armband with pride,” he said.
“You see these things and you have to try and take it all with a pinch of salt.
“You try and ignore it when you’re linked away. It happens to a lot of people at this club.
“It’s testament to the coaching staff here that there are rumours about so many of our players.”
After a mass exodus this season, the Reds need bodies through the door and fast.
Paul Heckingbottom was frank in his assessment that the club need to bring players in, and business has started already.
St Mirren’s creative midfielder Stevie Mallan is set to sign in a fee in the region of £300,000.
The youngster was one of the key reasons the Buddies stayed up in the Scottish Championship this term as he scored 11 goals.
The Scot underwent his medical at the club yesterday and it is believed personal terms have been agreed.
Fleetwood Town defender Conor McLaughlin is also attracting interest from the Reds. The Northern Ireland international is in the final year of his deal.
