8-0 win enables Rossington to top half century of goals

BRODSWORTH Welfare stretched their unbeaten run in the Doncaster Senior Premier Division to four matches with a 3-1 home win over AFC Sportsman Rover.

Andrew Kime, Ryan Soar and Daniel Smith, were on target for Welfare with Oliver Wheeler replying for the reigning champions.

Leaders Rossington Main took their goals tally past the half-century mark with an 8-0 win over Swinton Station Athletic. Nathan Fraser notched a hat trick with Dean Griffiths striking twice. Niall Doyle, Scott Maughan and Sean Nicholls were the other Main scorers.

Two each for James Connor and Craig Dyson gave Edlington Town a 4-3 win at Bramley Sunnyside, for whom Tom Salt 2, and Ian Donnelly replied.

Kyle Lacey scored five as Hemsworth Town romped to a 7-2 win over Carcroft Village. Alan Billington and Andrew Howe also netted for Town with Joe Fisher and Darren Fieldor replying.

A double strike from Tom Clarke put Kinsley Boys on the way to a 5-0 derby success over South Kirkby Colliery. Joel Edwards, Tyler Hill and Arnick Gill also scored.

South Elmsall United Services beat Bawtry Town 4-1 in the Premier Division KO Cup first round. Steven Nutter 2, Lance Walsh and David Harrison scored with Dan House replying for Town.

Daniel Bamford earned Division One leaders Denaby United a 1-0 win at Scawthorpe and Bentley Rhinos.

Despite coming back to level three times Shafton Villa were outgunned 7-3 at South Kirkby Town. Shaun Hobson claimed a hat-trick for Town with Ricky Gaskell, Kyle Simmonds, Ben Farina and Liam Hough also finding the net. Chris Glover, Ryan Butcher and Ben Pearson responded.

Woodlands Rhinos gained their first home scalp by defeating Bawtry Town Reserves 4-2. Simon Squire, Joshua Taylor, Daniel Palmer and Joel Smith, shared out their goals with Ben Leather and an own goal in reply.

A Ben Whittaker strike gave Sun FC a 1-1 draw with Hemsworth MW.

Tom Doherty was Sutton Rovers’ hat-trick hero as they triumphed 5-2 at Eggborough Eagles in the Goole and Thorne FA Cup second round. Luke Chambers and Ben Magilton also scored.

There was no joy for Askern Athletic who went down 12-0 in their home tie with AFC Woodlands.
