The mood in the dressing room was great after the win against Plymouth Albion, but we know the hard work doesn’t stop there.

It was good to get one over on Albion.

They were the team we played - and lost to - on the final day of the Championship season when we were relegated back in 2013, so it was nice to finish with a better result this time around.

I thought defensively we were strong. We worked the ball well and more than matched Plymouth physically.

They came at us but our trademark saying is ‘Be Brutal’ so I think they came up against a stronger team then they might’ve expected.

We’ve been working hard on our defence, particularly because of Clive Griffths’ experience as a defence coach.

The boys really buy into what Griff is trying to do and we’re working really hard in training to make sure we do well in this division.

But we’re grounded. We know it’s just one win and we want to keep that going.

With regards to my own personal performance against Albion, I was disappointed I missed the kicks that I did.

I’m a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to my kicking.

So, I’ll be working hard to make amends against Jersey.

We know Jersey will be a tough team on Saturday.

They’re a big team with a good coach in Steve Boden - somebody I’ve played alongside - so we know they will be organised and bring a lot to us.

They drew at the weekend so they’ll have that extra drive because they’ll be wanting to get their first win on the board.

It’s always a good test against Jersey. It’s our longest trip so we’ll enjoy the occasion and make sure we carry on the momentum that we have.

We want nothing less than a win on Saturday.
