The Botanist in Sheffield is in the running for a double whammy as the National Pub and Bar Awards have announced it's made the shortlist for best overall pub in the UK - again.

The 2017 winner is the only South Yorkshire pub in the list of 94 from across the UK.

Boasting a wide variety of cocktail concoctions, beers, blondes and pale ales, The Botanist also hosts live music acts every night.

When it comes to nibbles, the venue has some unique offerings including salt and pepper onion petals, "activated charcoal flatbread" and spicy mini sausage rolls.

Representatives from all of the shortlisted pubs will head to London on 23 May for a glitzy red carpet celebration and to find out who will be crowned overall winner.

Speaking about last years event Chris Hill, CEO of The New World Trading Company said: "The impact of this accolade cannot be overstated.
