Thorne and Moorends Town Council will re-open Thorne Memorial Park on Thursday (May 15) following health and safety concerns following a small amount of damage done to the park.
An area between Park View and West Road gates will remain fenced off to allow remedial work to be carried out including re-seeding following a recent event there. While this work takes place the public will be allowed to use the park, but are being asked to stay out of fenced off areas.
Council spokesman, Jeremy Sherlock, said: “Work to improve the walled garden in the park will start on June 2 and last for about five weeks. Contractors will be on site shortly before this to carry out weed killing and this area will be fenced off.”
