Women in Rotherham have two weeks left to sign up to Cancer Research UK’s Race for Life at Rother Valley Country Park later this month.

Over 4,000 women have already joined the ‘pink army’ ready to take on cancer on Saturday, July 18 and Sunday, July, 19.

A ‘Pretty Mudder’ obstacle course event is to be held on the Saturday and 5k and 10k races on the Sunday.

There are 500 places available, with registration forms needing to be in on Wednesday, July 15.

Emma Colbourne, Event Manager for Race for Life in South Yorkshire, said: “We are absolutely thrilled that so many women have entered Race for Life events at Rother Valley Country Park. But we still have places left so we are urging women to sign up as soon as possible.

“Race for Life is not competitive and it’s not about being fit or fast. These events are all about the feel-good factor that comes from being part of the ‘pink army’ as thousands of women come together to defeat cancer.”

This Sunday a 5k Race for Life event will be held at Herringthorpe Stadium.
