What is the best way to stretch a pair of women’s leather boots?
During a recent hostelry discussion, the subject of a too-tight pair of calf length boots was raised by a lady companion and quickly became a test of human ingenuity.
Unlike stretch-to-fit jeans you can’t really wear them in the bath and dry them into shape.
Ideas bandied about included inserting a bag of water and putting them in the freezer for it to expand, leathering them with a mallet on a cobblers last, or spraying that builder’s expanding insulation foam into them.
Other methods included splitting a shaped wooden leg and driving a bolt through it to stretch the seams.
Anybody have any other ideas?
