WITCHES and wizards are active in Wombwell Woods, spellbound locals have been warned!
The practitioners are being blamed for a spate of black bags, hung in the uppermost branches of trees and seemingly laid out in a definite pattern.
The bags have been appearing for about nine months – and baffled local rangers thought horse riders were hanging them there, to mark riding paths.
But a ranger has now revealed how he met a WIZARD in the woods – whom, he said, told him that the bags were placed by coven members as markers, prior to meetings.
Members of the Wombwell Crime and Safety Group were spellbound as they heard the tale unfold, at a meeting this week.
Joy Bretton of Wombwell Woods' Society told of the revelation – in a letter she had received from a South Yorkshire ranger.
Group members were then told by a Wombwell TARA member that he had also witnessed more witches locally... dancing in a circle at Bluebell Woods, Darfield, while he was camping nearby.
A spokesman for the Forestry Commission confirmed there
was an ongoing problem and unsolved mystery concerning black bags, but he refused to comment officially.
The Times understands it is well known locally that a coven has met at Wombwell Woods for some time.
