Wanted Sheffield man jailed for burglary
Justice has finally caught up with a Sheffield burglar who evaded police capture after he was jailed for nearly four years.
Police issued an appeal for wanted man Liam Tarantini in December last year in connection with burglary offences in the city.
The 19-year-old, of Bankwood Road, Gleadless Valley, was jailed for 30 months for burglary, two months for driving while disqualified and 12-months for breaching a suspended sentence, bringing his total prison time to 44 months.
After the case, PC David Stacey said: "Burglary is an intrusive and upsetting crime for victims, with its impact felt across the community.
“Tarantini knew he was wanted by police and deliberately eluded officers, creating significant demand for the burglary team as we tried to track him down.
“I am pleased he pleaded guilty and accepted responsibility for his crimes.
