AN ELECTRIC violinist who won over two celebrity admirers when she performed on a television talent show has proved to have yet another string to her bow.

Alexandra Parker has been honing her musical talents for years and first performed at a wedding at the tender age of 14.

Pretty Alexandra also caused a storm following appearances on reality television shows including last year’s ITV1’s Britain’s Got Talent where the 23-year-old impressed Baywatch actor and fan’s favourite David Hasselhoff and comedian Michael McIntyre who were on the judging panel.

However, the Belton musician is now planning to planning to head back into the classroom after deciding to start a four year part-time foundation degree in business leadership and management through Staffordshire University, but based at Chesterfield College.

If this proves successful Alexandra then wants to go on to complete a BA (Honours) and then a performance diploma.

And Alexandra will be keeping up her musical career as she prepares to perform at Doncaster-based events.

“The course is over quite a long time but it means it will be manageable for me with all my other commitments,” said Alexandra.

“I have been working mostly at weddings recently but have got the Cusworth Music Festival coming up (August 26) and Doncaster Show (September 2).

“I began playing at weddings quite a few years ago now, the feeling was indescribable. The first time that I played at a wedding, I was 14-years-old, and I absolutely loved it.

“I remember playing ‘Perfect Moment’, and as the bride stepped out of the wedding car, she heard the music and in that moment I saw a tear of the purest happiness imaginable. It was her day and I had helped to make it the most wonderful memory.”

She explained that she recently teamed up with Barry Waterhouse who puts on a fully choreographed laser show during her performances.

“It makes a massive difference to the shows. It makes it spectacular,” she added.

And while she is doing all this, Alex is also trying her hand at writing her own music too.

She added: “I’m certainly being kept very busy.”

Alex, a former South Axholme South pupil, also took part in June’s Doncaster 5k event, raising vital funds for Cancer Research UK.

The charitable performer still has aspirations of putting on a fundraising concert in aid of the Multiple Sclerosis Society.

And, not one to sit back, Alexandra also said that she was currently in talks with a secret contact about an exciting new venture.

“I have got another meeting lined up about something which is really quite exciting but I can’t say what it is just yet,” said the delighted violinist.

“All will be revealed in the next few weeks.”
