Hundreds of Santas jingled all the way round Sandall Park this morning, as part of an annual festive fundraiser.
From mums with pushchairs, to youngsters dressed as Christmas puddings, to pet pooches with a festive makeover - fundraisers of all ages and abilities took part in this year’s Sandall Park Santa Dash.
Around 500 generous joggers helped prove it really is the season of goodwill as they trekked the one mile route in aid of nine Doncaster charities.
The event was organised by Friends of Sandall Park, and the charities supported by the event are: The Aurora Wellbeing, Macmillan Cancer Support, Riding for the Disabled Association Rossington, Sandall Park Junior Rangers Football Club, Pilgrim Bandits, Alzheimers Society-Doncaster Branch, Doncaster Inclusive Centre of Excellence and the St Leger Rotary Community Project Fund.
Wendy Barclay, of Edenthorpe, who ran in aid of Riding for the Disabled Association Rossington, said it was a ‘brilliant day’.
The 59-year-old added: “It’s always great for people to come and enjoy themselves and sponsor some very, very worthwhile charities.
“It’s the start to our Christmas, and it’s always a very successful event.”
