Cotterill's name is among several current Wales squad members featured in the lyrics to Wales' official Euro 2016 football anthem which is due to be released tomorrow.

The song, Together Stronger (C'mon Wales), also pays a touching tribute to former Sheffield United boss Gary Speed who was in charge at the Blades for 18 games at the end of 2010 before becoming manager of Wales and who tragically committed suicide in November 2011 at the age of 42.

The lyrics read: "Let's not forget Gary Speed/He wore his heart upon his sleeve/And if he is looking down/Then our love is all around."

Winger Cotterill, who now plays for Championship side Birmingham City and has made 20 appearances for Wales, spent two seasons at Doncaster.

He scored 14 goals in 92 appearances for Rovers between 2012-14 before joining the Blues. During the 2012–13 season he was named in the PFA Team of the Year for League One.

The Welsh trio, known for hits such as A Design For Life and Motorcycle Emptiness, unveiled the song they hope will fire Chris Coleman’s team to footballing immortality in France for the first time this morning.
