Your favourite local newspaper has teamed up with the organiser’s of the New York Championship Beer Festival for this week’s Owt Fer Nowt deal to offer you a £1 off the £5 entry ticket.

The event is being held at Rotherham United’s home ground at the New York Stadium today and Friday from 6pm to 11pm and Saturday from noon to 11pm.

Matthew Ridsdale, 36, membership officer for the Rotherham branch of the Campaign for Real Ale, which has organised the event, said: “This is a great offer for your readers.

“Beer festivals give people who do not usually drink real ales, ciders or wines the chance to try something different and they are always great fun.”

This is the third year of the festival and more than 500 visitors are expected to attend. There will be more than 50 ales, ciders, wines and foreign beers.

The event will be held in the 1925 Suite, which includes a terrace overlooking the pitch.
