Residents in a Doncaster village have paid tribute to a ‘lovely’ 91-year-old woman who lost her life after being involved in a road traffic collision.
The collision occurred at around 11.50am on Friday morning in Water Lane, near to the junction with Field Road, Stainforth when Hilda Dell was involved in a collision with a red Ford Ka car travelling north from Princess Avenue.
Mrs Dell sadly passed away in hospital yesterday (October 18). Another pedestrian, a 61-year-old Doncaster man, was also involved and suffered minor injuries.
Floral tributes have been left at the scene of the accident, and many residents have also paid tribute to the 91-year-old.
One Stainforth business owner said: “She was a nice lady, and was very well known in the village.
Another resident commented: “She used a walking stick but seemed to get around okay. I think she was neighbours with the man crossing the road with her.”
