VIDE0: The St Leger festival gets underway

The jewel in the crown of Doncaster’s social calender, The St Leger festival, began today,

The festival was officially opened by town cryer, Henry Cryer and cabinet member for tourism, Coun Bob Johnson at the Red Lion pub in Doncaster town centre - which is where Colonel Anthony St. Leger and other horsing enthusiasts decided to hold the first St Leger horse race in 1776.
