Buster was with owners the Reverend Kate Bottley of TV’s Channel 4 show Gogglebox fame, and her husband Graham, for the ceremony at Mill Race Farm.

Hordes of animal lovers turned out for the occasion. Kate and Graham were helped with their duties by two beautiful Tia Rescue sponsor dogs, Glen and Molly.

The Rev Bottley was introduced to every dog in the Rescue. Special attention was given to Michael, a recovering greyhound who is responding to loving care and attention at Tia. Michael’s traumatic past left him nervous with people, but he has gained confidence and was happy to receive fuss from the special visitors. He is now seeking a loving home to call his own.

Both Kate and Graham went on to feed the horses in the Shire Rescue, stroke the donkeys and meet the turkeys.

They visited the vet room, a place with a vital part to play at Tia. Donations to the Rescue go towards, food, shelter, vet care, medication, utilities, necessary equipment and much more.

After browsing the on-site charity and pet shops, Kate and Graham enjoyed a cuppa in the dog friendly café, and Buster was treated to an ice-cream.

The Rescue has so far rehomed over 4,000 greyhounds, and has one of five approved Shire Horse Visitor centres in the country. It has a children’s play area, and a six-acre orchard walk.

Sponsors are needed for animals that cannot be re-homed, and the centre relies on fundraising and donations. For further information about Tia, call 01302 772935, or visit www.tia-rescue.org
