Yvette Fielding's Most Haunted team recorded its most terrifying footage yet when it appeared to film a clear image of a ghostly presence at a South Yorkshire stately home.
The ghost-hunting TV series visited Wentworth Woodhouse stable block for an episode being shown tonight and presenters were shocked to find an eerie presence in plain view on their cameras.
Most Haunted was investigating sightings of a large man in the stable block, a huge building that would have housed an entire community during the heyday of the house near Rotherham, that was built in 1630 by Thomas Wentworth, the first Earl of Strafford.
The crew was surprised to see what appeared to be the figure of a man during two separate vigils at the historic building. They have not yet released the footage, but it featured on an episode shown on the Really channel on Saturday, April 22.
Fielding said: "To date this has to be the most ground-breaking footage we have ever recorded.
"But rather than giving us the answer we were looking for, it just gave us more questions.
"Was it the presence of the spirit of a long dead soul, a doppelganger, Stone Tape Replay or something else we are never supposed to understand?"
Karl Beattie filmed the footage and said: "We've never seen anything like this before and we really don't have an explanation for what we saw but the replay of the filming, clearly shows the vision in detail.
"It's a weird, weird place."
