Trio arrested after car chase in Sheffield

Three people were arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary following a car chase in Sheffield.

A 27-year-old man needed hospital treatment for an injured hand after confronting several people attempting to burgle his home in Maple Leaf Way, Hucknall in Nottinghamshire at about 2am yesterday.

Police investigating suspected two cars to be involved and two pursuits followed.

One car travelled to Sheffield where three men, aged 23, 27 and 23 were arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary by South Yorkshire Police following a collision.

The other car was found in Mount Crescent off the Clover Nook Estate in Derbyshire and a 23-year-old woman and a 29-year-old man were arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary nearby by Derbyshire Police.

All five people remain in police custody.
