The post office in Swinton is set to move to a new location, and will also extend its opening hours.
It will move from its current location to just over the road to the Spar store, based on Station Road.
The present Swinton post office will close from 5.30pm on Wednesday, April 23 and the new branch at Spar Store will then open from 1pm on Thursday, April 24.
Opening hours at the new post office branch will be 9am-5.30pm Monday to Saturday with selected services available from the retail counters from 6am to 8pm Monday to Saturday and 6am to 8pm on Sunday, meanning customers will be able to access an extra 65 hours and 30 minutes of Post Office service every week.
Post Office regional network manager for central England Adrian Wales said: “We understand how important post office services are to the people of Swinton and we are confident that this new modern post office service will meet the needs of the local community and secure services for the future.”
He added: “This modernisation is part of a major investment programme, the largest in the history of the Post Office and marks a commitment to no more branch closure programmes.”
People wanting to use the post office during the move, are advised to visit the nearest branch in Mexborough.
